There are nesting Cooper’s Hawks at the Callaway Nature Preserve, and they find loads of stuff to eat because our neighbor has yet to mow the lawn this year…

I always love seeing people keep the grass long but not sure about having it in the back yard!! But if it benifits a coopers, I am happy!
I wouldn’t mind the tall grass except it is all weedy and non-native. Our front yard has big and little bluestem, prairie dropseed, and other prairie plants. If our neighbor did the same that would be AWESOME!!
But the Cooper is a welcomed bonus to their laziness!
