Veery and her son Dakota have temporarily moved! The Birdfreak Team is partially split for the summer/fall as Veery spends six months working in Jefferson City, Missouri. Join them as they answer the question: How’s the birding in Mid Missouri?
Dakota and I chose our own (temporary) front porch to do the Big Sit this year from Jefferson City, Missouri. The local birding club had a couple of locations in Jefferson City, but we decided to do our own. Mainly, this was because my sister (Susie…a.k.a. Snowy Owl) was down for a visit and we wanted to hang out.
The weather was…COLD! And cloudy. And our species total was small. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying the day and the count. Still, nothing tops last year’s count, both in weather and in bird totals!
