Phriday Photo – Whooping Cranes in HDR
From our visit to the International Crane Foundation, this pair of Whooping Cranes posed nicely for a high dynamic range (HDR) shot.
Birds, Conservation & the Great Outdoors
We love to travel to find new birds and participate in a lot of bird counts. We also created a Guide to Birding Field Guides and host a collection of over 300 birding links from all over the globe.
While our main focus continues to be birds, we promote other areas of conservation as well. Conserving land not only benefits wildlife, but is hugely beneficial to people as well.
We love all sorts of outdoor activities, especially hiking and spend a lot of time outside with dogs and horses. We are working to produce more articles on all sorts of outdoor fun!
Every week we bring you Bird Photography Weekly. We periodically talk about our adventures in digiscoping. Feel free to browse our photo lifelist.

Great Picture. I am heading to Rockport to see them this winter. I am working on the feral cat issue in Texas and blog a bit on the subject. I could use some readers so check me out. I hope to start an effort in Texas to put feral cats onte invasive species list. Alley Cat Allies came in a forced a resolution out of the Sanate comittee that was looking into invasive plant. ACAllies bragged all over about pushing Texas politics around. I plan on taking some wind out of their sails and get a serious effort going to change the paradigm of free roaming cats in Texas. I hope eventually to help foster a responsible change for pet ownership in Texas.
