The Ohio Young Birders Club (OYBC) is more than just a bird club for kids. It is an outlet of resources for conservationists of the future.
Golden-Wings, the OYBC’s newsletter highlights talents such as artwork and writings of members ranging from 12 to 18. It is published four times a year by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO).
The exceptional people at the BSBO are critical to the success of the young birders club – and successful it is. The quality of the newsletter, field trips and resources available to young birders is unmatched.
The Spring 2010 issue of Golden-Wings is special to the Birdfreaks because it includes an interview with Dakota as well as a review of Kenn Kaufman’s book, Kingbird Highway. There are incredible works of art and articles by other young birders included in the issue as well as upcoming events and photos.

Supporting the Ohio Young Birders Club is easy and inexpensive. An adult membership is only ten dollars; five for young birders. We are so proud and happy to be a part of the Ohio Young Birders Club!!
Great picture. 🙂 Keep up the good work!
Thanks Lana!!
Way to go!
Wish there were more Clubs around the Globe. Some that have decent prices to enter to.
When you switch countries a lot, you can’t just keep spending hundreds of Dollars to enter a club. Or, like here, there is simply nothing (like with everything else: Cairo) *sigh*
Nicole – Hopefully more clubs with good prices will start popping up all over. As long as there are young people that want them, I’m sure they’ll happen!!
