This year’s Biggest Week in American Birding is only a little over a month away! This year’s festival runs from May 6th through May 15th and is sure not to disappoint!
The Biggest Week in American Birding is one of the most popular birding festivals in the United States. It’s been growing every year and is wildly popular! It is also absolute proof that birders spend tourism dollars and that more should be done in the area to conserve birding habitats. This festival places a very high emphasis on bird conservation in the very best way!
New this year is the Biggest Week Conservation Fund. Donating helps fund The Great Egret Marsh Preserve along Lake Erie, The Buenaventura Reserve in Ecuador and critical songbird research by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory.
Promoting the cause of bird conservation is at the heart of The Biggest Week. This year, The Biggest Week Team at Black Swamp Bird Observatory proudly introduces THE BIGGEST WEEK CONSERVATION FUND.
100% of the proceeds donated to The Biggest Week Conservation Fund will be used for improving and expanding habitat for birds. Our 2016 Conservation Fund recipients are American Bird Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, and Black Swamp Bird Observatory.
There is so much to do at the Biggest Week for all levels of birders. From field trips around the area, to family and young birder walks, there is no limit to the birding fun you can experience.
The field trips and talks fill up fast but there is plenty to do and see so it’s not too late to register!
