County Roadside Birding
Nearly any of the numerous county roads can be productive for numerous species that are harder to find in the area preserves. Birds such as Horned Larks, Lapland Longspurs, and Snow Buntings are often seen on quiter roads, especially those that are gravel (winter only). Other birds like American Kestrels and a variety of hawks are often seen hunting along the roadways. Of course, caution is advised when birding on the busier roadways.
