Oak Ridge Birding
Oak Ridge Forest Preserve contains seven miles of birding trails along and near the south fork of the Kishwaukee River. It is connected to Deer Run Forest Preserve and Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve. Red-headed Woodpeckers, Orchard and Baltimore Orioles, Green Herons, and Eastern Kingbirds are just a few of the great birds to be found at Oak Ridge. This is a great place to find migrating birds both in spring and fall.
