Whitefish Point Bird Observatory is located on a point north of Paradise, Michigan in the U.P. (You can see the little point sticking out on this Google Earth image.)

Unfortunately, the Bird Observatory has a less than desirable Website, but the area birding makes up for it. The point attracts tons of birds during migration (both spring and fall). Some of the highlights are waterbirds such as loons, ducks, and grebes plus various raptors including many owls.

The northernly position of the point also offers many boreal species like Gray Jays, Evening Grosbeaks, Spruce Grouse, and Pine Grosbeaks. Also, this site has hosted nesting Piping Plovers on the area beaches.
