Birding

We love to travel to find new birds and participate in a lot of bird counts. We also created a Guide to Birding Field Guides and host a collection of over 300 birding links from all over the globe.

Conservation

While our main focus continues to be birds, we promote other areas of conservation as well. Conserving land not only benefits wildlife, but is hugely beneficial to people as well.

Outdoors

We love all sorts of outdoor activities, especially hiking and spend a lot of time outside with dogs and horses. We are working to produce more articles on all sorts of outdoor fun!

Photography

Every week we bring you Bird Photography Weekly. We periodically talk about our adventures in digiscoping. Feel free to browse our photo lifelist.

Seasonal Environmental Impact Meme

We were tagged by Patrick for this meme (doh!) and thought it was a fun one to share.

Over this holiday (Christmas for us) season, what did you or your family do to reduce your environmental impact

For many years now we have used newspaper to wrap presents. After the gifts are opened, we recycle the newspaper.

We sometimes use brown bags and old Cheez-it boxes too…who doesn’t want a new t-shirt stuffed in a Cheez-it box wrapped in newspaper?

We tag John, Larry, and Vern!

We hope you all had a safe and fun holiday season and good birding to all!

You guys rock! Beth and I said that we’re going to do the same thing once we run out of the paper we bought after Xmas 2006.

I’ve reduced my holiday environmental footprint largely by not celebrating any holidays anymore…but that’s just me.
(Is there anything a Cheez-It box ISN’T good for, really?)

I can’t think of anything I did differently this Christmas for the environment. I guess recycling wrapping paper counts, but I have been doing that for years.
