Birding

We love to travel to find new birds and participate in a lot of bird counts. We also created a Guide to Birding Field Guides and host a collection of over 300 birding links from all over the globe.

Conservation

While our main focus continues to be birds, we promote other areas of conservation as well. Conserving land not only benefits wildlife, but is hugely beneficial to people as well.

Outdoors

We love all sorts of outdoor activities, especially hiking and spend a lot of time outside with dogs and horses. We are working to produce more articles on all sorts of outdoor fun!

Photography

Every week we bring you Bird Photography Weekly. We periodically talk about our adventures in digiscoping. Feel free to browse our photo lifelist.

Lack of Blogging

It’s been too long since I posted on the blog. We’ve been pre-occupied with family issues. Our grandfather passed away after being in hospice. We expected it but his passing was difficult.

We also lost our beloved Doberman after a battle with bone cancer. The double whammy left little time for blogging.

However, we at Birdfreak try to always remain positive and we will continue to pursue conservation projects for birds. We love birding and the weather is finally starting to show good signs and the birds are moving about.

Red-winged Blackbirds, Grackles, and Robins are all starting to be seen. Our yard is under a thinning layer of ice and some plants are beginning to poke. Life goes on and birds still need our help.

Sorry to hear of your sad losses. Life can be tough at times. Don’t feel bad about not blogging – family has to come first. Remember – the birds will still be there for you when you are ready to get out there again.
