My name is Dakota and I just moved to Northwest Ohio. I am 12 years old. I love birds and birding. My uncle, Eddie (aka Birdfreak) and my Mom (Veery) write a bird conservation blog called Birdfreak: The Bird Conservation Blog. He lives in Northern Illinois and so does my Aunt Susie, who also writes for the blog. My new Aunt-to-be Stacia is also now part of the blog as The New Birder Experience.
I hope to have a lot of my own photos on this blog. My Mom Jennie (Veery) writes for the blog too. My aunt Susie (Snowy Owl) lives in Illinois and also writes for Birdfreak: The Bird Conservation Blog.
I am in middle school attending seventh grade. I am learning to play the Viola in the orchestra and just joined band (trombone). I love birding and studying insects.
My cousin Sammie also birds. She started a blog also, called Jabberwocky of Jays. We are only a year apart and we have a lot of fun birding and doing stuff.
My younger cousin Allie also likes to bird. She is still learning how to use bins, but is getting better.
