The Boreal Songbird Initiative (BSI) is “a non-profit organization dedicated to outreach and education about the importance of the Boreal Forest region to North America’s birds.”

BSI also has a blog written by Dr. Jeff Wells, bird conservationist expert and senior scientist for the Boreal Songbird Initiative.

Dr. Wells is also the author of Birder’s Conservation Handbook: 100 North American Birds at Risk, a book no birder should be without.
