St. Louis County has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to begin filling seven wetland areas and one pond for the Page-Olive Connector highway project. The application can be seen at http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/permits/pn/P-2735.pdf .

Please note where USACE indicates on page 4 that no endangered species have been seen in the project area. However, I have documented snowy egrets and blue herons here. Pictures of these birds, along with St. Louis County's Environmental Assessment, which details several other endangered species observed in the study area, can all be found at http://responsibleprogress.blogspot.com .

Please help find ways to stop this habitat destruction. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
