Our local urban Bald Eagle chicks peeked over the rim of the nest yesterday, but my camera wasn't ready. I am terrible with flight shots, but one of the adults accommodated with a flyby.

Hi Larry - Thanks for the kind words! The photo was taken when the bird was in the classic T pose, just prior to taking flight. 500mm equivalent (300mm + 1.7 TC) and the bird was fairly close which helped with the bokeh.

Hey Matt, since you don't have a place to comment, I just wanted to say what a super capture you have of the Red-tailed Hawk portrait. Is that bird in flight? The image is so sharp and I love the bokeh.

A pair of American Kestrels from the Katy Prairie area, just west of Houston, Texas. No great composition here, but nice examples of the differences in coloration and markings between the male and female of the species. Enjoy!
