Birding

We love to travel to find new birds and participate in a lot of bird counts. We also created a Guide to Birding Field Guides and host a collection of over 300 birding links from all over the globe.

Conservation

While our main focus continues to be birds, we promote other areas of conservation as well. Conserving land not only benefits wildlife, but is hugely beneficial to people as well.

Outdoors

We love all sorts of outdoor activities, especially hiking and spend a lot of time outside with dogs and horses. We are working to produce more articles on all sorts of outdoor fun!

Photography

Every week we bring you Bird Photography Weekly. We periodically talk about our adventures in digiscoping. Feel free to browse our photo lifelist.

American Robin on my Car

The last few days I have been spotting an American Robin acting strangely towards my car. I’ve known birds to attack their reflections and assumed this was the case here. But she seems to be beyond that.

The bird works her way around the roof, sits on the side mirrors and defiles the moonroof. Often times this is done while holding nesting materials.

Robin on my Car

She has built a wonderful, muddy nest on the light fixture by the front door. I figure she is being protective of her territory but the way she works over my car is comical. And a bit abnormal. Or at least not something I’ve witnessed before (besides basic reflection boxing).

I’ll try for some video and more pictures, especially of the nest. I don’t know if she will continue with this nest because of the people/dog traffic out the door but we will see.
