This Blue-winged Warbler [Vermivora pinus] was caught in the act! Despite their bright colors, they can often be overlooked. A little trick to remember their sound from the closely related Golden-winged Warbler is:

  • Blue-winged, two syllables = “bee-bzzz”
  • Gold-en-winged, three syllables = “bee-bzzz-bzzzz”
